1967 Beetle / USA
Have always had a special place in my heart for VW’s. My 1st car was a 1969 VW Bug, then after I had a '71 Beetle, then a '65 Bug and then a '66 type II square back. I live in a small town in Central Florida, been trying to do everything myself but it’s not as easy as it looks cause I have a couple of surgeries, back and shoulders. Body work is done, now have to focus on the motor and brakes.

1974 Beetle / Canada
Pulled out of a barn where it sat since 82, took two years to freshen it up. Didn’t need restoration, replaced the original battery, interior, a face lift and fresh paint. I replaced the worn engine with a lesser used 1600cc. Future plans include a 2210cc and full custom stereo!

My name is Adam and I started into this hobby when I was very young over 40 years ago. I have owned many VWs and have always enjoyed them. The car I have had the longest is my '71 Convertible which has been our family since 1982! I have had it since 1987. I look forward to continuing in this great hobby and meeting more great VW people!

Bought my 2nd Super Beetle about 5 yrs ago. 3rd owner and for the most part was pretty original. I've since put a 1641cc engine in. Upgraded to dual carbs, front disc brakes. Still much to do, Kürbis is coming together nicely. Never into making it a show car, just fun reliable cruiser.

1966 Beetle / USA
I bought the car when I was 13 years old with money I made from mowing yards, $50.00 car and title , dad took me to Benton Illinois, we loaded it on a trailer, It was stock as a rock, 58,000 original miles, brought it home , worked on it for 3 years to customize it the way it looks today, that was in 1983-1985, drove this car to high school, parked it in 1991 in my grandmas garage, lost interest in it, walked away from it, it sat for 16 years inside granny garage, 2007 got interested in it again, drug it out of the shop, totally went through the whole car, it looks just like this today, back in the same garage as it sat for 16 years, I live at my granny house today, she pasted away several years back , I drive the car regularly now and love it.
Denny Walker
1971 Super Beetle / USA
Pretty much a stocker with 1600 dual port with pertronix electronic ignition. Lowered with adjustable struts, heavy sway bar and flipped tie rods. More mods planned, but I enjoy driving it too much to start that project anytime soon.
Mike McDonald
1971 Beetle / USA
It was an abandoned car that was left in a field. I obtained the car for a tow yard in trade for my old Apple Watch. The car needs a complete going through before it can be driven again.

1969 Beetle / Philippines
Bought by my grandfather in 1971, she was just 2 years old then...now she's 51. I can't say I'm the owner but a caretaker. Hope I could pass it on to my daughter someday...
Dave Whittick
1971 Super Beetle / Canada
I bought the car 23 years ago. The car was originally purchased in Longbeach, California back in 1971 and was brought to Canada by the second owner who relocated for work. I purchased the car as a driver but it didn't take long to tear it down for a complete, body on, makeover. Lots of custom body mods which were all the rage back in the day. After all these years, the car has had several upgrades and improvements but the overall all vibe has never changed. It's definitely stuck in the 90's. The car was featured in VW Trends in 2000. The engine is now a 2109cc stroker with dual 45 Dellorto carbs, MSD ignition, Stage 2 heads from Steve Tims, and a Berg 2" header and A1 fat boy muffler. It's dyno'd at 145hp and 138 ft lbs at the rear wheels. Transmission is a Rancho built flyer. 4 wheel disc brakes hide behind fully polished 914 Fuch rims.
Dave Whittick
1964 Beetle Vert / Canada
I've owned the car since 1995. When I bought the car, the previous owner had done just about everything wrong to the car that he could. Bad suspension, bad motor, horrible rims, cut the dash and drilled a bunch of holes for a big stereo, ugly interior, etc, etc. It took a year to sort it all out and get it back to a presentable condition. It runs a very reliable 1600cc now with stock ignition, carburetion, etc. We've collected lots of accessories for the car over the years including Hella 7" fogs, Beetle Bags custom fit luggage, Hazet Tourist tool kit for the spare tire, and a 1958 Allstate single wheel trailer.
Dave Whittick
1963 Beetle / Canada
The car was purchased as a driver from New Jersey and originally came from Jacksonville, NY. It was immediately stripped to bare metal before starting the 600+ hours of body and paint work in it's original Anthracite grey. The interior and rag roof was stitched by Lenny Copp at West Coast Classic Restoration in Orange, California. Airkewld in Arizona supplied the 6" narrowed Probuilt beam and full billet BAD series brakes on all four corners with 4 piston Wilwood calipers. Tires are 225X65X15 BF Goodrich redlines on the rear and custom made 135X15 fronts and spare. The motor is a stock 40hp with a big bore kit and W100 Cam, 010 distributor, Porsche small diameter 12V generator, and Speedwell Sprint kit with dual Stromberg CD 150 carbs. The interior features Porsche 550 hand brake, custom pedals, Porsche 356A steering wheel with deluxe horn ring, Mamba shifter, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio with shortwave adapter and accessory rear speaker.
Dave Whittick
1964 Variant / Canada
This car was delivered to Luxembourg and sold out of Belgium in Oct 1964. It's an S model with the high compression, dual carb, 1500cc motor. The car was resprayed in it's original Nutria brown paint and still wears its original brown chord vinyl interior. The car is an untouched survivor. Accessories include the ultra rare Hazet Tourist case specific for type 3, original under dash tray, bud vase, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, and Carback roof tent.

This bug actually belongs to my wife. Obtained from her father Dale Gidley of Corpus Christi Texas. At Dales import service. Weekend driver beach car. It is so awesome! People just love the car and ask to take pictures all the time. It's cool when older people tell us stories about when they owned a bug back in the day. Theresa Gidley is the owner.
Christopher Phipps
1975 Super Beetle / USA
I got my beetle from the estate of the original owner who’d passed away. She was the original owner. My La Grande is special because the build date is 9/75. A month into the 76 model year. It was part of an extended run of La Grande’s. So it was one of the last one produced. Her name is “Blucinda”

My first car was a 1966 Bug. I have loved bugs ever since but I went the muscle car route after that first bug. Today I own a 1973 Super Beetle which went under water for about four days during Hurricane Harvey. BTW, Beetles do float... for about an hour. I have not had the time to get my Bug running again, hopefully soon. Joining a forum is the best source of info in working on cars.

I live in Ontario and was looking for a '67 Beetle (my first car was a '67). I found this original Beetle (repainted a few years ago) in Manitoba. I drove it from my son's place near the Alberta border, a distance of almost 4,000 km, to Ontario last summer. The only breakdown was electrical ... replaced the rotor. Let the good times roll!

I am new the whole VW/Bug scene and looking forward to cruising. I am planning on removing the front beam in the coming weeks and narrowing a couple inches to bring my EMPI's back inside the fender-wells a tad and raise the whole car slightly as I am just to dam clumsy to drive a car this low!

I found the Bug sitting in a farmers field 31 years ago. I started to restore the Bug but it was put on hold as I started a family and life happened. It was finally finished in late 2017. The Beetle is a Canadian Standard Bug with an original rag top and oval window. I kept the Bug original with some modification, custom wiring, new frame and a narrowed and lowered front end.
Caleb McCrackin
1973 Beetle / Canada
I was 12 when I bought my project. It was a 73 super beetle which was badly rotted. I stuck with it for 11 years, picking up skills and parts along the way. It was a body off restoration. The car is brand new underneath though it looks rough. As you can see, it is a mix of many different years of beetle. I used what I could afford and get my hands on. It's a standard beetle now with a 66 body. His name is Scruffy.

I traveled to Davis, California with my daughter to buy a one owner, all original 1971 Elm Green Super Beetle. We drove it down the Pacific Coast Highway and back to Toronto via Route 66. Victor, the original owner had bought the car brand new on Oct 6th 1970 in Davis, CA, where the car spent its whole life with Victor, until he passed away. He loved his little Beetle, and we are continuing that legacy in memory of Victor.

Here is one of my VW Beetle's, a very late Mexican built one from 2003. I took it off the road to clean and paint everything and put it back together. I have been involved with VW since the mid 70's. I have owned many VW models over the years. My current ride is a 1964 Beetle that is powered by the 2110cc engine from our old race car. Lots of fun to drive. Hard to stop with stock brakes. I am one of the founders and have been the promoter of the June Jitter Bug VW car show in Niagara Falls Ontario for 33 years. I wish you all the luck Peter on a great informative website for the VW NUT. Keep on Buggin.

Traded a guitar for my bug that was in pieces in several boxes (it sat that way for almost 10 years!), someone put a 2” narrowed front beam with 2” drop spindles on it , brakes were non existent. Spent some time putting it back together & it’s lookin much better, engine even fired up & ran for a few minutes (needs starter/ fuel system work still). Unfortunately I live in Colorado & the car is at my parents place in California. Goal this year is to get it together enough to have it brought home! My 12 year old daughter would love for it to be her 1st car! (we’ll have to see about that!, lol)

I bought my super in 2003. It was love at first sight. It was in more or less good condition. Then I used it rather rude in the mountains etc... Lots of body mods, including shaving the drip rails. Candy orange paint with mixed orange and gold pearl flames. Disc brake conversion up front. All new bushings and front suspension. Installed Top Line lowering struts, but just wouldn’t go low enough for me. Converted the struts to coil overs. Now it sits where I wanted it. Mild 1679 engine with dual Scat single barrels. Still working on it, but it does drive....very well. Peace, love and VW’s.

I painted my beetle with chalkboard paint so the kids can have fun at the car shows too. My kids unfortunately are not into old cars. So this was the inspiration to paint my car like this. Chalkbugsuperedition or CBSE on Facebook or Instagram. Thanks for looking.

Most people know me for this car. I built it in 1996 with my mechanic as a promotional car for Bugs On The Hill. It had custom seats and interior, huge stereo, 1835cc motor, disk brakes, one piece windows and much more. It is currently being re-restored and documented on this website as Project #Super71.

This was my first car. I bought it pretty much as-is and only provided minimal engine repairs and upgrades. It was driven to most VW shows and local cruise nights in the mid 90's before being sold. I am grad to be part of this community. See you online.

This was my second car and first project. This Beetle was pretty much stock. I bought it as an abandoned project, but most of the original car was all there. It just needed some TLC, minor body work, and fresh paint.

This was my very first car. My dad and I pulled it our of a barn in Acton, Ontario back in 1993. Unfortunately is was too far gone and the car was stripped down for parts. It still holds a special place in my heart. It would have been nice to have been able to restore it.
